Amoxicillin is a penicillin based antibiotic drug. It prevents the growth of some bacteria in the patient’s body. Do not treat diarrhea and other side effect conditions with over the counter solutions. Contact your doctor if you have diarrhea that lasts more than 48 hours or if it is severe and watery.
